Covenant
We, the CMT, covenant to:
- Hold in highest consideration the well-being and individuality of each of the
3 congregations
- Listen attentively to our congregations and to each other
- Communicate with our response respective congregations in a timely and
inclusive way
- Value the diversity of opinions, allowing complete expression of them and
holding our minds open
- Make decisions that consider the integrity of the 3 congregations as we
collaborated and then support those decisions in our congregations
- Remain engaged when conflict arises and practice forgiveness with ourselves
and with each other
Open questions
The following are the four open questions that I cribbed from my notes
yesterday. Take a look, let me know if Iām off-base/mis-remembering anything and
do be sure to propose new questions via reply to this email if anything is
missing. My hope is to come to our October meeting with a solid list of
questions so we can pick one or two at get to work setting goals for ourselves
to answer those questions.
How do we utilize our collaborative energy to help our members deepen their personal spirituality?
How do we improve and support effective lay leadership in our congregations?
What shall we do about retaining families with children in our congregations?
What can we do to improve communication between the congregants in our collaborative?

- OWL has been a big win, and is perhaps a product of familiarity born of the
collaborative, not a specific CMT initiative
- Internship update
- Sara reported we have 2 applicants in the process of interviewing
- Will be making a decision soon
- Have to absorb additional expense for next year
- 1/3 contribution for 2021 internship is approx. $5100
- Collaborative worship
- Ellsworth is hosting, changed the date to June 7 from the 14th
- Margaret got Shana Apell (sp) as guest, Ariel will coordinate
- Spiritual leadership
- Pick up choir will be coordinated by leadership and information coming out
- GA bus
- Deposit check due on Monday, $300, Jacqui will make sure that gets submitted
- 7 people signed up, two checks in
- 4 from Ellsworth and 4 from Belfast
- Amy said 14 people planning to go from Belfast, but not clear
- We get a full refund if canceled within 15 days
- Margaret will get information to Rockland UUs
- Lane will get information to MUUSAN UUs
- How to handle scholarship requests
- Donation for scholarship for two people
- $135
- Film nights
- Just Mercy, a bunch of Ellsworth folks and a few Castine folks were there
- There was a pizza + discussion afterward, 14 people came to that
- Condor & the Eagle sponsorship, don't have to front that money
- Didn't talk about dates
- Task force of Colin, Margaret and Jacqui to work on marketing
- Ariel will work on programming
- Colin has reached out to the Alamo
- Colin will introduce the film
- Could be a fundraiser for Earth Ministry
- Ferry beach
- Deadline to register is May 17
- Registration form has gone out to churches
- Retreat is August 21-23
- Andy Burt about a Justice workshop
- Lane will think about doing a justice workshop
