Journal
Wow. Yesterday turned into a trial pretty quickly. Emma took a nap around the
time I got in from my run and ended up sleeping right through dinner prep. That
left me with a wide awake Nabby and all the kids while I made dinner.
When she woke up she had a massive headache and looked genuinely sick. Her
theory was that it was all the crappy food she ate at the 4th. That seems like a
bit of a stretch. She looked more like she had food poisioning or something.
At any rate, right before we headed out for bingo, I had a shit time moving
sheep and Emma checked our bank account. Turns out we had something like 14
overdrafts and were in the whole the entierty of the check mom wrote us. So much
for paying our mortgage. At this point I'm pretty sure Emma's going to ask me to
ask dad for more money, bt that feels shitty, especially as I'm so close to
landing a job.
On top of all of that, there's the vacation to Chicago next weekend. I don't
think we can swing it. Even if I ask dad for money, that will cover our
mortgage, not the trip. It would be pretty foolish to go on a vacation with our
mortgage money. Talk about digging a hole.
