1. Update on vessel status - Helen
- Will know more in the next couple of weeks whether OHP is coming
- $30k in escrow for a visit from OHP
- Talk with the state about funding from them to help with Perry
- Maiden has not asked for an appearance fee
- If the contract is not signed Wed. by 3 if Tall Ships has signed on
- Maiden, come on the 12th and depart 14th, parade of ships
- Try to work with Maiden
- OHP falls through, there is the Blue Nose 2 up in Nova Scotia
2. Discussion with Harbor Committee - Shawn
- Recommend against trying to shuttle people
- 1.5 hour run dock to dock
- Max, 20 people in fast boat
- Recommend not looking into a water taxi from Belfast
- Advertise it as a "Come to Castine by Water Day"
- Could organize launches to make it easy to get from moorings in Smith Cove
or elsewhere
- Idea of attracting smaller vessels, something the size of the Hermione
- Model during Classic Wooden Boat race, have a lot of boats, can definitely
handle 40 boats in the harbor
- Shawn also noted that there will be a very large naval vessel up in Rockland

Journal
Today was really top heavy with meetings, and I didn't do a good job preparing
for my day. There were a number of things around the house that I should have
done yesterday and instead pushed off to today and then did those in the
afternoon when I should have been working.
Nonetheless, I am getting a second wind to get things done this afternoon, which
is just in time for the selectboard meeting.

The bicentennial committee meeting went better than thought it would. I still
feel a little behind the 8-ball on getting PayPal setup, but I also know that a
lot of that pressure is coming from Helen, who has her own agenda. I have tried
to assert my role as chair a little stronger this week, and it seems to be
working. Our meeting today was much less rambling than in the past and I think
we got some good work done.
