Looking around, most people already seem to have mentors. I'm not totally sure
what I'm doing here, and maybe my job is to just listen and think. I am not
totally impressed with the direction of projects.
Right after I write that and it occurs to me that the group could use a chat
service like Slack or Discord. Apparently they tried to use it with Slack, but I
think the kids all use Discord.
The formalism around this is strange. It's clearly run by a group of folks who
haven't been in high school in a while. I wonder how much of this stuff could be
accomplished if you framed it around their passions.
