Journal

Holy shit, it's January 21 already. I've gotten sidetracked from this journal

for the past few weeks. Between Nabby in hospital, the holidays, 15Five retreat,

and Mom being in the hospital it's been a crazy time. In a strange way I feel

like I need to complain about all that stuff here, because if not in my personal

journal, then where? But I don't feel a need to complain. Things are as good as

I could hope. Nabby's healthy, Mom's getting better, the retreat was amazing,

and I feel like all things are possible.

Most interestingly, a session at retreat on breakthroughs made me think about

how Emma doesn't get to do these annual trips that I do by myself. And then I

thought about how much Jane loved seeing the palm trees in my photos. I put two

and two together and suggested looking for cheap flights to the Southwest for

Emma and Jane. Emma's now totally on board and they're looking to go to Phoenix

in February. I am so happy she's up for it, and I think Jane's going to have a

ridiculous time. Silas is even excited to a trip like this at some point.

I think there's an important lesson for kids here that not everything happens to

or for everyone, both good and bad.
