Journal

Started the day cleaning things up in the kitchen. Emma said she had gotten up

at 4 a.m. and made chocolate muffins, even though I had made english muffins the

night before. The whole exchange was kind of odd, and it made me a little

concerned that Emma doesn't have a lot to do right now.

She gets very defensive when you criticize the piles of unsorted junk around our

house, saying that she's just too busy and it's not a priority. But then when

she's up at 4 a.m. without a baby or any kids awake, she bakes a really

ambitious project. It's odd.

Brendan stopped by to take a look at the trees in our front yard. He's going to

get to work on them as soon as he can.
