Saw news last night that selectman papers for Dave Unger's seat are available.
Should I run for selectman this year? There's a lot else going on right now.
Probably the church will need a new president in a year or so. Once I'm
selectman, how long would I hope to be selectman? What are my reasons? What
would be my goals?
A reasonable platform for the town would be to sustain the infrastructure work we're already doing, find new opportunities to work with the academy on various projects, and find ways to encourage folks who work in town to also live here. That means a careful study of the current rental market and the various inefficiencies that drive many folks to rent seasonally and to MMA before working individuals or families. Connected to that, I believe the Rec committee deserves more support to run and advertise outdoor physical activities for kids and adults all year round.
