Journal
A gray, overcast day where it will certainly rain again. It rained for much of
the night, which made me a little discouraged, as I left the sheep and goats out
on pasture without cover. Probably just need to pick myself up and try better
today.
I also slept in a bit this morning, so, while I'm well rested, I felt like a
boob coming downstairs and saying I needed to leave for office hours.
Last night Jess came home saying that the Celica really needed time in the shop.
She said she'd gladly help with the repairs when she gets paid. Of course, my
first thought with that car is that we wouldn't still have it if she wasn't
using it all the time. I don't feel like I can say anything so direct because
Jess is really sensitive to criticism. Direct thoughts like that will be taken
as an order to change, and I don't necessarily want her to stop using the car,
but the expectation that we are all maintaining it is kinda silly. Yes, I do use
it from time to time, but Emma and I would have figured out how to get by with
one car, like we always do, if Jess didn't need it.
Also, I don't know what is going on with the Jeep. Jess used it to tow the
shelter thingy to the north side of the house, but now it seems like it's kind
of stuck out there without driving over all the pasture.
I'm really hoping to hear good news from Thorn today, but I probably ought to
set my expectations on not getting an offer, so I'm not terribly disappointed
when it doesn't come through. Waiting for offers sucks too, because I have to
managed other job offers appropriately. Daupler is pretty far along, but if I
get another offer, there's no reason to subject myself to their technical interview.
I'm at office hours now, though, and trying to dot I's and cross T's and not
doing a great job of it.
