Yesterday was a strange day. I visited Mom in Belfast for a second day. She
was having some imaging done of her kidneys, but otherwise not much happened.
They were talking about a PICC line this morning which makes it sound like
she'll be there for longer than just this week, but I didn't dare say that to
her.
I was exhausted when I got home. Silas just wanted to try playing Shogun,
and I just wanted to finish some work. I also had a feeling that if I
committed to a board game I would not be a lot fun. When we got through the
evening and wasn't able to get Shogun in, I explained the problem of visiting
Baba at the hospital and that today wasn't likely to be a board game day
either and he seemed to understand. I should do a better job of communicating
expectations with Silas. I tend to promise too much.
Today is, of course, election day. I am anxious about what happens, which I
did not expect. That said, today was also an auspicious day because we got our
first snow of the season. It will melt by tomorrow, but it's an honest inch of
snow. Eli stopped by and mentioned that there's 4 inches in Blue Hill.

From my work yesterday, it seems there's some funky interplay between active and in-active invitations with the `is_active` flag not being present in an import. I wonder if Workday has any way to include the `is_active` tag ... :thinking:
