A bit of a lazy day after the marathon yesterday. While it was supposed to be getting colder the next few days, today didn't seem quite as cold as advertised. Regardless, it was still time to be low key. I spent my morning breaking my email configuration and my afternoon fixing it. Somewhere in there I also took care of a bunch of Laundry and vacuumed a good chunk of the house.

On my virtual 2020 Marine Corps Marathon yesterday I got to thinking a little about radio waves while I was chugging up Route 199. I was reflecting on the fact that I had a GPS watch that was using Bluetooth to relay my position to an app on my phone, which was then using the cell network around me to transmit my position to a server that E was checking to see where I was at. I was a walking fountain of radio waves.
The funny thing is, I got this wonderful visualization in my head about how the radio waves were working. You need a specific length of wire for an antenna for the same reason a subwoofer speaker with a metal plate in it and sand on top generates fixed "waves" of sand. If the sand generates standing waves with a consistent distance, you can then disturb those waves in your own pattern to communicate at the speed of sound. I hadn't really ever thought about this all that much.

I screwed up the notmuch database for my email this morning by trying to get IMAP syncing upstream to work. Instead of syncing my IMAP folders, I copied a whole bunch of duplicate and triplicate messages up to the server. Then I had to
