Ugh. So we kind of guilted Monique into letting us pick up the puppy. She
feels bad about changing rules.

Got a funky message from Monique about today being a family day so we can't pick up the puppy. What a strange family. Hard to understand what's going on with out jumping to absurd conclusions. But facts are facts and apparently she thought we were picking him up after vaccinations, which would have been in weeks. That clearly wasn't the plan when we said a visit on Christmas and pick-up at eight weeks. Oh well.

Oof, yesterday was a bad food day. I managed to stay pretty good before my
run, but after I got back Emma and picked up chips and dip for New Year's with
her parents. I held off for a bit but ended up opening some chips during the
super-boring Alabama-Cincinnati game and everything went down hill from there.
That said, we had a nice NYE with Emma's parents. I built a wicked good fort
for the kiddos using a bunch of the sheets from the basement and some duct
tape. Then I setup a screen inside for video game time and the adults settled
into watching the first episode of The Terror.
Today has been a bit more subdued. We're ostensibly picking up Mr. Jackson
today, but Emma wants to "puppy-proof" the kitchen and dining room first.
Everything seems pretty good to me, so I'm not sure what's left to do. But
she's napping now, so we'll see.
