Journal

First day of starting running in the morning with Nabby. I wasn't sure it'd be

possible, but here we are. Got a run in, was able to move the chickens. Maybe I

can even go move the sheep fence before I head into town.

I can't forget it's Jane's day though.

Thinking on my run today about the nature of persecution and how if you're a

Job, all you can do is read signs. Reading signs is one of the hallmarks of a

superstitious religion. I wonder what the UU equivelant of reading signs is.

Also, thinking over what I would say about my parents as a eulogy, not in a dark

sense, but thinking through what they gave me. Dad has a mean streak, but

encouraged curiousity in a way that I don't think I can reproduce.

People talk about the human condition being the inevitabiliy of death, but I

wonder if more accurately it's that you can't reproduce happiness. Everyone has

to find it on their own path. Thankfully there are ton of paths to it, but it

doesn't make it easier.
