Journal

Life comes at you faster sometimes than at other times. This week kicked off

with a phone call I really did not want to make. Helen Miller is very upset with

how she's been treated regarding Castine's Bicentennial celebration. At the same

time, she's going to do whatever work she feels is needed regardless of what we

pay her, which makes it difficult.

I sent out a lengthily email this afternoon. I am hopeful she receives it well,

but it's times like this I'm glad I'm on a committee and not doing this by myself.

Last night I didn't get to bed till really late. Mostly I got in a groove with

work after not doing a great job all day of doing actual design work. Now I need

to get back into it.

Interestingly, while I often dump on myself for overextending or trying to do

too many things, I feel like I'd rather do too many things than too few. There's

a mentor meeting for the Pioneer Prize tomorrow, and I'm not sure I have time.

But I also know that supporting kids learning is really important to me, so I'll

go and see what kind of commitment I end up having to make.
