- Note taken on

After having a funky start to my day things cleared up nicely. I often think I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to planning out my day. I worry about not getting certain things done, but then don't use the time I have most effectively. For example, today I'd really like to get a run in, and play board games with Silas Sewell. Instead I'm staring at a setting sun and having to prioritize.

This has been an interesting morning. Right before going to sleep yesterday I pushed a new drive into Rhea to double the storage capacity. Everything looked good until I went to use the podgrab web app and discovered the site was down.

Somehow the drive pulled itself out of the zpool right after I added it and data started going sideways. Thankfully I had installed Rhea on a separate drive so I didn't lose access with the zpool corruption. There's a lesson there about running the system from your main storage space.

This morning, I restarted Rhea and everything seems OKAY now. There's still some strange issues that I'll need to explore, but I'm starting the jail backup to Paaliaq now and will hopefully in a better place to work around ZFS issues in the future.
