Timeline
- Note taken on
Added support for importing files from Rockbox into Vrobbler, which is pretty
cool. The only thing missing is to do MB lookups when artists or albums don't
already exist, as that will make it much more robust.
Actually, that will also allow scrobbling tracks that don't yet have MB data
from various other sources, as it can always be added later. It would also
be nice to have artist artwork when possible, similar to Maloja.
Otherwise it's been a hard day of just sitting around. Some days go like that.
Thankfully it's Friday so I don't have to think to much about work for the
next few days.
- Note taken on
A cold front moved in overnight last night. Temperature is in the single digts
outside right now, and will drop below zero with dangerous wind chills
overnight. And yet, the hardest part I think was anticipating dangerous
weather while being stuck on the first floor and generally unable to help
should anything go wrong. Emma's been amazing running around the house fixing
things.
In the meantime, I woke up with a headache this morning and just
generally felt behind the eight ball.
I did finish A Psalm for the Wild-Built this morning. I thought I could finish
it last night, but my eyes wouldn't stay open. Which was pretty much the point
of reading. I've gotten in the habit of reading until I can't focus anymore,
otherwise the niggly not-quite-pain from my right foot keeps me distracted
enough that I have trouble sleeping. Nice to have a trick like that in the bag
and not be stuck with some sort of medication to help me sleep.
Meanwhile, the book was fantastic. I bristled a bit about the use of
non-binary pronouns for the protaganist--I'm still not 100% there yet--but it
worked out in the end. And the throughline of the story was beautiful. The
idea of a human society structured in a sustainable way where everyone has
their place and has what they need is neat, but it leaves out the fact that
plenty will still struggle with meaning.
My take away from the book was that it's okay to have desire, drive or want.
But it's also okay to just want comfort.
