Abigail was born at 8:19 this morning via Cesarean section. Emma was a trooper once she got past the IV. Last night, Ellie seemed taken back that we were doing a planned c-section, and I still don't know quite what she expected. Our problem was staring down a pregnancy that was getting more and more difficult everyday, and the unknown of what an induction would look like. Effectively, we had concluded that with all the fluid we couldn't go full term and so our options looked like either induction or surgery. Then, with the chance that an induction could take a while or wind up in surgery anyhow, given that she wouldn't stay head down. We landed on surgery.
I still don't know how I feel about it completely. But it hardly matters now, because Nabby is a healthy 8lb 6oz baby and doesn't seem to be suffering from much pre-term issues.
