Journal
A really beautiful sunny day today, though the mosquitoes continue to dominate
the entire day. They are worse at sundown, but even at high noon they are out.
I had a stressful day of not hearing from any of my current employment leads
until the end of my day. Kate at Thorn got back to me to say they still had
other folks interviewing and that they'd let me know the status of my
application later in the week. Fuck. I felt really good about how far along I
had gotten, and now it seems like I'm just one of many.
I wonder if there's anything I can do to encourage my application, or if I
should just sit on it and wait.
So now I play the waiting game with 15Five. And PathAI is taking so long, I'm
pretty sure they're not making an offer. I suppose I shouldn't give up hope, but
enough of the interviews were real rough that I think it's easier if I imagine
I'm not getting that job.
I gotta keep my head up and keep looking for other opportunities. The egg isn't
hatched till it's hatched.
In the meantime, poor Nabby is just covered in bug bites. She looked so much
better this morning, but one stint outside with Emma helping move the chicken
fence and she just got eaten alive again. I feel sad looking at her, though so
far it hasn't hurt her sleeping.
Today was also my first Monday of helping with historical tours of Castine.
Sharon Bray is not feeling well, and Andrea Hatch called me up to ask if I
wanted to take on the job.
