We lost power last night. Strangely, I had gone to bed a little after 1 so it was a pretty brief window. The power was back on by 7:30 when I got up. Nevermind that I only slept for six hours.

When I went to check on Rhea, the server had come back up just fine, but none of my services were running. Checking the server, Caddy was up, but responses were giving SSL errors. I took Caddy down and discovered that the server was still responding over the HTTP port. So something else was running. Turns out Nginx was configured and running and apparently it boots faster than Caddy :) ... so Caddy couldn't bind to port and Nginx was returning nonsense response. Killed Nginx, uninstalled it and now we're all good.

After struggling with this for a while and having a genius idea to refactor the way we create users in the bulk import functions by gathering all the data and inserting users in bulk, Andrii discouraged me from that. Back to the drawing board, I discovered the actual problem comes primarily from one function that's responsible for adding users to groups. It make 56 queries per user, which results in 2800 queries!
