01:24 Plans

Best laid plans, and all that. We had a wonderful evening tonight with Paul and Amanda from King Hill Farm over for dinner. Emma also had the genius idea of inviting Paul's parents, who moved from Iowa to Bucksport in January and Emma's parents. The evening was a ton of fun, and it was nice to get to know folks better.

One thing that stood out to me was that Paul's sister is also trying to make it as an actor and recently moved from LA to NYC. Sometimes I feel like Paul presents himself as so obviously a farmer that I'm surprised when there are facets of modern life in his family :)

That also stood out when we were talking about places to go for date nights and dinners. They apparently spend a lot of time in Belfast and were wondering about where we eat when we're down there. Paul also pointed out that there's a gymnastics center down there that will take your kids one night a month so you can have a date night. Sounds awesome.

I'm ostensibly supposed to be running 20 miles tomorrow morning, and we're supposed to be killing chickens as well. But it's almost 1:30 in the morning, and I'm not asleep yet. We also do not have a plucker or any actual chickens to kill. They're all still at the Flanzala's. So I've no idea how tomorrow is gonna go. But there will likely be some horse-trading with Emma to get a run in, and I doubt we'll be able to get any chickens done either.
