09:45 Frustrations

I find myself frustrateda about a great many things at work lately. Time was I

would have felt either angry or anxious about such things, but it's become so

normal that it's just noise now.

For starters, no one replies to anything until 4 or 5 ET on Slack. Conan has

stepped in for Ness and is just as much a micro manager as Kyna, it turns out. I

discovered a massive gap in our 2019 quality measure plan and went to see what

we'd done in years past and realized we've never done anything like this.

That last one is what I cam here to process though. I don't know much about

quality measures, CMS or reporting for payment purposes (QPP). But it turns out

very few other people do either. That's horrifying and I'm not sure whether I

should be disappointed or angry. Right now I'm actually just scared that I'll

get blamed for implementing a solution when we had no solution that now appears

to be more than just half-assed.

You know how you assume most people around you are all adults? Well, at least I

tend to look up to most everyone unless they demonstrate childishness, in which

case they immediately drop a peg. It turns out, as I get older, I can't make

that assumtion anymore. People who appear "old" actually can be my age or

younger and make some pretty hideous mistakes. I'm beginning to see why it's

difficult not to wind up a grumpy old man in life.
