Ze Santos and I are going to be co-reading the following poem:

http://poems.bitcliq.com/botanics-of-peace-visitation/

ANA LUÍSA AMARAL

#+begin_verse

Botanics of peace: visitation

I have a flower

whose name I don’t know

On the balcony,

its scent blends

with other smells:

hibiscus, rose,

a sprig of verbena

But they will be prodigies

of another morning:

for this flower

has bred leaves of astonishing

green,

minute and subtle

Bombs do not threaten it

nor do romantic winds,

missiles or tornados,

neither does it know, although so near,

of the jeopardy the salt

sea air will bring

And the blue autumn sky

disguised as summer

gives it such blessing,

as does the little water that I pour

And this must be

a sort of peace:

a botanical secret

of light

- Note taken on

The squad Huddle boosted my spirits quite a bit. I also snagged Ze to help

with the poetry reading, and getting positive feedback from folks is always

awesome.

I was able to get all the seedlings outside between meetings, along with

triaging a lot of bugs from our squad bug channel.

I'm still not sure how to feel about how curt Andrii was this morning about my

not being prepared for the [[roam:One-on-One]] today. I think he was genuinely

miffed that I hadn't done my homework and I think the best takeaway for me is

to do better in the future and to take this growth stuff seriously.

- Note taken on

Felt good waking up this morning. I was a little anxious going to bed because

I forgot to prepare a poem for the Wednesday Boost, but when I woke up I was

able to find a good poem translated from Portugese pretty easily.

My one-on-one with Andrii felt low energy today. He seemed frustrated that I

still hadn't done my 1-year plan and was not prepared to discuss OKRs that

might get me to that plan. Initially we started out having a pretty good

conversation, but by the end it felt like he just wanted to get off the call,

which I've never felt with anyone at 15Five. It's entirely possible there are

other things going on on his end, but combined with some rushed and crappy

pull requests from last night, the whole exchange has sent me down a crappy

mental state spiral to some sort of imposter syndrome. Like I'm just about to

be found out.
