I've moved my computer setup around again. Curiously I've setup a primarily sitting setup lately. This is a reflection of the fact that I have been tired at work lately and not able to focus. I think the amount that I'm running makes the need or even desirability of a standing desk moot. I know have much more energy at work and am more satisified with the time I spend in the basement. The last few months I've actually been dreading heading downstairs for work. Now I can't wait to get down here :)

After the boost, got back to this and discoverd to my delight that most of the logic already exists. It's a matter of passing `create_groups` to the request that kicks off the import [[file:/usr/home/powellc/src/ff/fifteen5/ff/mods/api/views/public.py::create_groups = request.POST.get('create_groups', 'True').lower() in TRUTHY_VALUES][here]] and then verifying it follows the four steps in the ticket.

Added a sample CSV to the ticket org file to simulate what happens when we upload a file with non-existant groups. That code is checked [[file:/usr/home/powellc/src/ff/fifteen5/ff/mods/bulkimport/utils.py::group_doesnt_exist_and_cant_create_group = (][here]] and that's where we should probably start adding group addition instead of throwing an error.

Had an awesome DevToolBox meeting with 15 folks. Moving the time up an hour seemed to help a lot of folks in Europe make the call, which was nice to see. Zoltan Gorbe did an awesome job walking us through some neat tricks in the Chrome DevTools. The neatest ones:

- You can select a dom element in the source tree and it will automatically be accessible as `$0` variable in the console

- You can rate limit or add latency to the request to see what the page looks like on a slow connection

Who is someone who's changed your perspective on the world? And how?

Anne Applebaum ---> Understanding geopolitics and learning from history

Ryan Peterson ... I was a counter-culture nerd/skateboarder in high school. Had a great time doing that. In college, Ace (Ryan's nickname) invited me, a CS nerd to play Ultimate. What?! Nerds don't play team sports. Introduction of Ultimate changed my perspective on what it means to be part of a team, how to lead (I was voted) when you don't ask for leadership. The importance of physical fitness in balancing the other parts of your flie.

I joke sometimes that it was a tie as to what was most important about college, finding Ultimate or meeting my wife. Ace was a huge part of showing me that nerds can play sports.
