Looking through the measure definitions this morning, it became patently clear

tha the CDS was never supposed to stay gone once you dismiss

A distracted day, by and large. I had a nice morning and was able to do a little

more reading in 12 Rules for Life. Unfortunately I'm not totally sold on where

the book is going. The first two chapters were great, but part way through the

third I kinda got where he was going and was just slogging my way to the end.

Life's too short for that, though I haven't given up on a book in a while.

Yesterday, Jessica was using the Celica for Eli's driving test and they managed

to get to the DMV for the test when the instructor pointed out that the car's

registration stickers were expired. I had the new stickers sitting on my desk

downstairs. Oddly, I didn't feel totally responsible for this. The best I can

reason about it is that Jessica is super lucky to have access to the Celica,

mostly for free right now. And while she's deferential and always diligent

about asking permission, when something like this doesn't work out, largely due

to depending on someone else to own the car, I have a hard time being

sympathetic. That might make me a total asshole, the jury's still out.
