Last day without Emma for the weekend and it's going pretty well. I had a

1-on-1 with [[roam:Andrew Bogle]] this morning and afterwards the kids and I went

down to the beach with the dogs. Initially Silas really didn't want to go all

the way down to the beach, but once we got down there everyone had fun. After

the wind yesterday the temperature dropped off sharply today and it was quite

cold.

Had two really nice coffee chats with [[roam:Matt Mayfield]] and [[roam:Calvin Hicks]]

as well. Calvin and I talked about a bunch of stuff around how I got here, and

where he came from. He has a background in acting and thought about doing that

professionally before shifting to engineering work. Interesting to think

about how different backgrounds can help build teams. I'm curious about how

the balance of personal connection and backgrounds unrelated to work intersect

with actually getting things done.
