Had a nice time at summer league last night. After watching WFDF games all day, I was primed to make a difference last night. But when I got there, my first two points involved pretty major handler gaffs on my part. It became clear pretty quickly that I wasn't in a good place and I took myself off the line and tried to calm down. That seemed to work pretty well. Our team ended up down 13-14 on defense and needed two breaks to win.
The first break came on a pretty trivial handler give and go that someone dropped while trying to get rid of it quickly. It's easy to claim those our their error, but the reality was that tight aggressive defense was forcing a bad pass.
The second break came on universe point and was much more of a gift. And yet, we still took advantage of it. I was off the field by choice, and a few people ran a nice sideline offense that moved the disc quickly and never gave the defense a chance to catch up.
Now, for some reason, my right leg is really tight and I can't figure out what happened. I did some open water swimming yesterday as well, but I doubt that's where it came from.
