- [X] Fee Schedule Waiver

1. [Background.]{.underline} Permit 3092 was issued on 19 July, 2001 for the construction of a 10' X 12' bathhouse adjacent to the swimming pool at 704 Castine Road. At some point in time, a larger 21'4" X 23' structure was built. The current property owner has owned this property for a little over a year and is in the middle of repairing the 21' X 23' structure due to damage caused by a tree falling on the roof. The preponderance of the evidence available to the Code Enforcement Office has led the CEO to strongly suspect that the larger structure was constructed on or around 2001 and Castine's Local Plumbing Inspector concurs. The previous property owner has since passed away and the Code Enforcement Office is seeking to update the Map and Lot file to aid in a more accurate tax assessment and complete the Map and Lot record through the issuance of an updated building permit.

2. [Recommendation.]{.underline} Section 11.8 of the Castine Zoning Ordinance states that the Selectboard may adjust the fees by vote of the Selectboard. The Building Permit fees of \$75 were paid on the original project in 2001, so I am requesting that any building permit fee which could be assessed to update the record for the repair of only the 21' X 23' bathhouse at 704 Castine Road be waived. - [X] Town Manager's report

1. [Noise Complaints Regarding MMA's State of Maine training ship.]{.underline} Over the past week, I have continued to take periodic readings of the noise levels in and around the pier where the State of Maine was previously docked in order to document the baseline ambient noise for the area. Once I have taken several more readings, I will share this information with the Selectboard.

2. [Eastern Court Street Paving.]{.underline} I expect Bowden and Son LLC to get started on the eastern Court Street paving project towards the latter half of next week. Once I have a firm start date, I will let the Hatch Cove homeowners association know so that they can park on the Court Street shoulder outside of the work area. I expect that there will be approximately 2 days where residents will be required to park on Court Street, and we should expect 9-12 cars to be parked there.

3. [Maine Maritime Academy Fall Plan.]{.underline} MMA has released its plan for the return of students in the Fall and posted it on their web site.

- Thank you to everyone who participated in our Town Meeting this year. Town Meeting is an important part of the governance model of Castine and I appreciate those that made the effort to come despite the restrictions placed on it due to the ongoing pandemic. I greatly appreciate everyone's continued understanding as your government, the State of Maine and our country continue to navigate in uncharted waters.
