22:47 Bike

Spent yesterday afternoon and evening at the hospital. I was cranking hard on Emma's mountain bike after coming up over State Street hill to sync my speed with a car that had just come around Battle Ave. Right in front of Carolyn's store the chain popped off and I lost my balance and hit the deck. I don't think I slammed that hard, but I was traveling close to 20 mph and just sort of crumpled to the ground and slid for a ways. I skinned some parts of my left side, knee, shoulder and elbow. But the really concerning part, and why we ended up in the ER, was that I got my optical migraine-numbness-in-mouth-and-left-hand thing, which has only happened twice, but in exactly the same progression and usually at altitude. As a precaution we went and got me a CT scan, which came back negative. They took some blood and checked my glucose levels and everything was fine.
