Journal
Missed a few of my day pages over the weekend. Mostly this was a function of
most of my time taken up with outdoors things. It was a very productive weekend,
even if some of the mornings were sore and tired.
Emma got a deal on fruit trees at Fedco, so we planted five new apple trees
yesterday, two russets, a honeycrisp, a gravenstein and a red astrachan. Today,
after office hours, I need to get the plum, pear and cherry trees in the ground.
Nabby's been sick the past few days. Her cough is also not really improving,
which is a little concerning. She was running a fever when I brought her to bed
last night, and like an asshole I went back downstairs to finish an episode of
The Expanse while Emma nursed her. When Emma wanted meds, I didn't hear her at
all, so Emma had to get out of bed and go downstairs with Nabs.
That's something too. I've been binge watching The Expanse this weekend. Season
3 has been really good so far, and I'm captivated by the story arch wherein
humans will always be humans, and people make mistakes and are forgiven. It's
been a neat experience thinking about how human colonization in space will
likely not help us be less human. And really, it probably shouldn't.
