Today was a flurry of meetings in the morning! On the one hand, that sounds like a bad thing, but really it helped me feel much more productive than I've been in a while. I started my day with a fun one-on-one with Andrii ... I had expected to talk about my 10 year drawing of myself, but instead we mostly talked about how he could help me as a manager. I used the opportunity to encourage him to maybe do a little more "micro managing" in the sense that I still tend to get stuck and I need help being my best-self. That looks like encouraging me to get on calls more often with people or to ping people in slack when I get stuck.
To that end, the other calls I had were Pair Programming Time with Andrii and then a short one with Myroslav to figure out a totally separate issue. While neither are resolved, I have clear leads on what the issue might be and am motivated to keep working on them. This seems key for me, as when there's isn't a clear lead, I end up distracted with non-work things.
In contrast, on a day like today, I barely had time to check my email, let alone open Hacker News or Google News! The biggest challenge now is to keep up with the little things that matter.
