- This went way better than I could have hoped. As part of our plan to make

trials easier and longer to gain users in the system, I was supposed to make

all trials use the basic feature set.

- I had originally planned to build a fun ā€˜Trialā€˜ model that would keep track of

the various features for a give trial. But it turned out the mods.billing

already had a concept of trial feature sets. So then it was just a matter of

hooking the admin up to toggle between the ā€˜PLUSā€˜ set and ā€˜BASICā€˜ set and

making sure all new onboarded companies use ā€˜BASICā€˜ by default

- I was surprised to wake up to almost clear skies and a lot of sun this

morning. I thought it was supposed to rain and then snow all day. When I

looked at the forecast they had updated it to call for rain after 9 with snow

overnight. The total snow-fall amount was also updated to be 3-5 inches. That

was a surprise as well :)

- Started using Duolingo to learn Ukrainian. There’s got to be some other

resources too. One of the reasons I’m interested in Ukrainian is that I can

then do conversational lessons with Andrii Pleskach, if he’s up for it. That

would be pretty cool.

- Emma Sweet got the kitchen drain pretty well clogged this afternoon. When I

got back from my run I ran the sink for a bit and realized it wasn’t draining.

When I moved the trap to drain it nothing happened. Uh oh.

Turns out she had drained a cup of fat down the sink. Even with that

realization, she was still pretty convinced it could be something else causing

the plug. After running boiling water down the drain a few times to little

effect I finally grabbed the plunger and got a nice suction and just ripped

whatever it was out.

Sky

Saturn sits halfway between Mars and Jupiter in this morning’s sky. By 4 A.M.

local time all three planets have risen; an hour later, Mars (the lowest) is 13°

above the southeastern horizon. The trio appears just east of the famous teapot

asterism comprising Sagittarius’ brightest stars.

In the following days and weeks, closer and faster-moving Mars will track away

from the giant planets, heading deeper into Capricornus and then passing into

Aquarius early next month.
