I'm wondering how much people understand about infectious diseases. As someone
who refuses to subject his children to a 69-vaccine onslaught at birth in favor
of more specific, targeted approaches as they get older, the response to COVID19
seems to support my hypothesis that most people simply do not think through
their decisions.
Perhaps that issue is that there's too much information, and no one could
possibly make the best possible decision. Or maybe people just don't understand
math. But the way people are not considering themselves in danger of contracting
the disease defies logic.
Aside from thinking about that, today has gone pretty well. Not sure if I'll get
a run in. This was the second day of keeping the kids home from school. Asa had
a stomach bug yesterday that has given him pretty bad diarrhea. That gave us
pretext to keep the kids home, while Emma got a text from Tracy that a number of
kids went home with fevers the other day. That seems inauspicious.
The CMT meeting today was also very affirming. I tend to work myself up about
not doing enough for these things, but the CMT is one place where I rarely feel
judgment for the effort I do or don't have to put in. Perhaps it's said in
other forums, but all I feel is appreciation for the work we've done to bring
our three congregations together and I always leave feeling better than I went in.

I had some time carved out today to talk to someone at MMA who's working on Sara
Gideon's campaign to see what I can do in Castine. She was a no-show, so I ended
up walking over to town office. It was nice to be there to catch up with Shawn
and help Karen log into PayPal. Nice to check things off my list. I need to do a
brain dump tonight on things that ought to get done. I feel like I'm losing
containment on my various responsibilities.
