Journal
Got on the bus safely for the start of my trip to Portugal. There's always some
anxiety around making sure all the detalis are correct. But I think today will
go fine. Thankfully I only need to make it to Logan and get on a single airplane
to land in Lisbon. Then I meet up with Shem a few hours later and we take an
Uber out to the retreat in Ericiera.
David kicked off a Boost a few weeks ago talking about his plan for 15Five as a
company going forward. He said they were doubling down on the idea of best-self
management as a paradigm that will drive adoption of 15Five as a software
platform. I like this idea for a few reasons. First, it focuses on an honest
mission, not simply a cash grab or get rich quick scheme. The goal is to enable
folks to be their best selves.
---
I'm not sure why I become an asshole when I'm traveling. More specifically, I
become hypercritical of the little things people do obliviously. The antidote is
probably to take care of what I can take care of, and try to be considerate and
polite.
---
Fuck me, people watch a lot of video these days. Standing up in the airplane
to wait for the head and all you see is a sea of screens with all manner of
media on them. Of course, I currently have a computer in front of me, but
somehow it seems different.
