Read a really interesting article on Hacker News about Ukraine, which was odd

because I just started reading Red Famine about Stalin’s war on the peasants

whom he feared would start a revolution. The article was really poorly

written by an American about their experience looking for information about

the grandfather.

What made the article interesting was a comment from someone in Ukraine

talking about how straightforward most of the “mysterious” history the author

was writing about was. From the author’s last name, to the politics of the time.

Can you believe how hard it is to get a timestamp in Org-mode? All I want is a

quick way to insert what the current time is. The best I have right now is

using `org-add-note` which work okay, I guess.

Put my Honor 6X in my vest pocket this morning while making hot cross buns. It

fell out right onto the top right corner where the display was separating from

the case and the screen shattered into a hundred pieces. The phone still

works, thank god, so I can back up my OTP app and SMS.

I think I’m looking at a Nokia 6.2 for my next phone for $250. It’s more than

I would have hoped to spend, but less than a new phone from AT&T.

Emma Sweet out did herself while we’re on lock-down for Covid-19. She created

a really awesome scavenger hunt for Easter 2020 where the kids had to

find eight scrolls with clues. Once they had all the scrolls the messages told

a story that pointed them towards their basket. The kids were super

enthusiastic about it, even though the haul this year wasn’t nearly as good as

in past years.

Breakfast helped. I had made marshmallow the night before, and Emma talked me

into making hot-cross buns as well. We had our usual spread of cheese and

meat and hard boiled eggs.
