Whew!!! The end of the 15Five Virtual Retreat 2021 was pretty :fire: today. Sat in on a workshop around empathy with Jeremiah Drake who we'd had at 15Five in the past doing Theater of the Oppressed work. He's got such a chill manner and forthright way of speaking.

One of the activities he had us do was from a book call The Empathy Effect called Declaration of Identity. I don't usually speak up in these contexts, but I felt moved to read mine out, which went like this:

Jacinta Jimenez gave an awesome talk on habits and techniques to avoid Burnout. I wonder if there's a path to encouraging folks to work on these and share them with their managers.

Didn't have time to check in this morning because I was almost late to the ME200 committee meeting! I was up around 7:30 pretty well but then fell back asleep until almost 8:45!

I was able to get coffee made and make it to the meeting on time. The discussion around what to do with 2021 and the Maine 200 Celebration was great, too. We've decided to punt until 2022 but still try to plan a summer event. With some of the money, the hope is to put up some sort of memorial this year. Pat Bishop wants some sort of statue and we're going to reach out to Goody-B Wiseman to this end, but we're holding open a simpler idea of just putting up a memorial bench or plaque somewhere.
