Pretty low key one-on-one this week. Stephen and I talked about the release

process being time consuming but not complicated and James' effort to automate

things. Jag Ginsberg has some concerns about that with respect to branch

protection, but I pointed out that whether we unprotect a branch or allow PR

merges via automation, it's kind of the same risk. The only real opportunity

to make it safer would be if you require a PR review before merge.

Actually, that might be a nice part of the automated flow. The staging or prod

release bot opens a PR that has to be approved, and once approved it gets

auto-merged and released 🙇‍♂️
