Markel's was slammed so we ended up at Bayview. It turned out that was a
delightful stop because the kids could run around and play on things while we
waited for food.

Journal
Another beautiful day. Plenty of sunshine and cool this morning, with the
promise of a warmer day. I still slept in longer than I meant to. But I also
got plenty fo sleep, so that's probably a net positive.
I started my day fixing my own PRs and reviewing other peoples. I like this flow
where I check code that exists in the morning. I then spend the afternoon
building out new PRs so that my squad can review them when they get on early in
the morning.

My mom drove the cousins up to our place today. We had a really nice time poking
around Castine, which we hardly ever get a chance to do. When we thought about
going to Markel's for lunch it turned out there was a ton of people there. So we
hightailed it to Bayview instead. This turned out to be a coup because the kids
were able to run around and play while waiting for food.
After play practice ended, Emma picked J and Si up and the kids played for a
while. Emma suggested that maybe we drive the kids home later, because they got
so little time together due to play practice. They seemed to have a great time
together.
In the meantime, Emma got a call from Eli this afternoon that Jess was in a car
accident. She came up over a rise to find a car horizontal in the road and not
moving very fast. She tried to stop, but ended up running into it pretty
violently. She was apparently unconcious for a short time, and ended up at the
hospital with a bad headache and some brusies from the airbag and such.
We're not sure what the state of the Celica is, but Emma says Jess feels really
bad about it. I will admit here that after hearing that Jess was alrgiht, my
thoughts went to what a shit deal this is, that she was just thinking about
buying a car for herself and then seems like maybe totaled a car that's not
hers. I've felt really terrible about how we sort of comandeered the car from
mom anyhow, and now this. Mom loves that Celica, and she' being philisophical
about things, but this can't be sitting well with her.
