Near the end of the hackathon I got a little excited about cleaning up my self hosted box. In particular, I wasn't happy with using ReadEra on my phone to read books, as it's not free. I like KOReader, but it's library management is pretty much null. What I discovered is that I can setup calibre-web in a jail and use syncthing to keep my library synced up with Calibre on all my other computers. Then, if I want to read a book on my phone I just go and download it from calibre-web and use KOReader. This has the added bonus of meaning I'm not carrying around over a gig of ebooks on my phone at all times. I love when things are win-win.
That said, I haven't been very productive at work today. We also ended up not doing a hike because the kids were not enthusiastic about it, and Emma fell asleep in the afternoon. I'm trying to figure out if I should go for a run now or not. It's cold outside, but it's not /that/ cold :smile:

My optometrist appointment went great. I love Vancil Vision and always forget how much when I don't go. I also discovered our vision insurance is not accepted there, which makes it hard to know how I should go about getting glasses.

Spoke with Andrii this morning in my weekly review about a lot of things. Mostly we went over the results of the hackathon and the relative high energy going on right now. I'm excited about the work we're doing and enjoyed the 15Five Virtual Retreat 2021 but now comes the part of taking that enthusiasm through the next few months.
I woke up today to Nabby staring at me asking to get out of bed. That was adorable. I lowered her down and then realized I had to be up to make coffee to make my meeting Andrii. There was a light snow coming down, which had been in the forecast for a while so I wasn't surprised, but it's always a little magical to have it snow in the morning.
I'm a little anxious this morning about having scheduled an optometrist appointment back to back with a partner call. Thankfully I don't think it's the most important call in the world, so if I'm late or miss it completely I think it will be okay.
The big task for me going into Q1 at work, though, is being a better ambassador on these partnership calls. So often I enjoy being on the call, but I don't write donw what we talk about or pass it along to the other engineers in the call. So everyone else stays out of the conversation eve though I'm in it.
