I was listening to the Memory Palace Podcast this morning and it was a wonderful story about Robert Smalls, the first, and for a time only, black sailor in the Union Navy. He successfully stole a confederate paddle boat, sailed into in the blockade outside Fort Sumter and ended up being well rewarded for his trouble.

I woke up this morning at around 4 having to pee and then slept fitfully until I woke up. Strnagely, I dremt I was in a small apartment in a big city and Amanda had come to tell me that I probably had Covid-19. The dream was real enough to make me wonder if I should still be going for a run this morning if in fact I was sick. I hope Amanada's doing alright in Portland.

@BartekGrabski I was reflecting on Palm Springs this morning and remembered what a great time I had connecting with you there! I hope we get to talk in person again soon, but perhaps a coffee call over Zoom would do for now πŸ˜„

Given that I skipped my long run on Sunday and took Monday off, I thought today would be easier. I started counting miles at the turn even though I know better. It is tremendously humid out this morning. There was enough fog that my glasses kept getting covered by mist and I eventually had to stop trying to clear them off.

3. [X] Read the Covenant of our Collaboration:

- Hold in highest consideration the well-being and individuality of each of the three congregations assuming that we are acting in good faith for this end.

- Listen attentively to our congregations and to each other.

- Communicate with our respective congregations in a timely and inclusive way.

- Value the diversity of opinions, allowing complete expression of them and holding our minds open.

- Make decisions that consider the integrity of the three congregations as we collaborate, and then support those decisions in our congregations.

- Remain engaged when conflict arises and practice forgiveness with ourselves and each other.

- Amy noted that she had committed to doing a UU the Vote service early in September and asked if it was alright to use the Sept. 13 Collaborative Worship Service for this purpose

- Everyone agreed that it was a great idea

- Lane expressed concern that a lot of "get out the vote" support tasks are already going to be deep in training now, and certainly by Sept. 13, but still thought it was good idea.
