1. Check-in

2. Update on CMT Communication Plan

+ Bettina: All Belfast offerings on the email

- Hard to not have the same thing twice

- Do we need lengthy explanation of what a program entails

- Was a nice way to get the word out

- April-May history things going on in Belfast

- Thing in mid-stream in other congregations

- Requires a point person to get that information from each congregations

- Included the CMT workshop service coming up

- Idea is, here's the events going on and classes in other congregations

- Gdoc with information

+ Robin: Weekly or monthly news?

+ Sara: It's in the monthly newsletter

- This year has been the year of collaborating more with programming

- Scope of what CMT is thinking about,

+ Gary: As we develop the Breeze calendar, that's a good place to enter these events

+ Karen: Faith & Renewal committee is meeting tomorrow

- Might be nice to have shorter title and description for offerings

- Contact person offering course for more information

+ Bettina: Don't want to take focus away from the Belfast congregation

+ Karen: Group is eagar to have others join

+ Colin: Is it crazy to have folks from other churches sit on other committees?

+ Amy: We've done that in th past

+ Robin: Happens when it's useful or one church wants information from another church

- Happened with policy-based governance, precedent has been set

+ Sara: A way to have other churches participate in offerings

+ Karen: What if we had someone say, by the 20th of each month they'd touch base with

- For this past month, Bettina co-ordinated this information, but who gathers that info?

+ Bettina: Didn't take much time, looked through newsletters and gathered information

- Shared information after gathered with minsters

- Belfast/Karen sent information directly to Bettina

- Having one person be in touch with the Adult RE people in each congregation

- There's also children's programs

+ Robin: ALso things like making sure folks know about auctions and fundraisers

- Do we have a playbook for how to do it

+ Bettina: Get a format up on GDocs

+ Margaret: Just because Belfast is giving out information doesn't mean everyone is invited

- If an event is going on CMT blurb, has to be okay for external office

- CMT should have Zoom account? Overkill, probably

- Maybe things that didn't work in Zoom before may work now? Common Read?

- There's certain events as a CMT to do together

- So even when we go back to non-virtual meetings, are there things we can do virtually still?

+ Bettina: Once we're back in person, the list of shared things is going to get smaller

+ Mac: Could do in-person and on Zoom

- CMT tagline, "We're all in this together, so let's get together"

+ Amy: Does make sense for intern to be running this process

- BUt there'd be a gap in July and August

3. Internship update

+ Inteviewed an officialy offered the job go Vanessa Williams

+ Middle of August to Middle of May will be the timeline

+ Amy, Margaret and Vanessa will work kon getting the committee formed

+ There's already a small committee for Vanessa

+ Lane: Were there other candidates?

+ Margaret: Had a few other people interested

- Few people selected out when it was clear it wasn't 100% virtual

- Also had one person drop when they realied it wasn't full time paid with benefits

- Did not interview anyone else

+ Bettina: Decision deadline is very late, not sure if that has any impact

+ Margaret: Had one person take a position elsewhere in the last cycle because of that

+ Lane: Do we have a packet we send out to interested parties?

+ Margaret: There's a lot of info on the clearing house website

+ Have had some conversations with potential candidates

+ Sara: We can do a little video recording

+ Coming year is our sixth year of offering an internship

+ Margaret: Not sure how the clearing house works

+ Might have to be after they express interest

+ Bettina: Clearing house provided good information

+ Collaborative nature and small congregations advertised well

+ BUt emphasisizng the smaller congregational might be good

+ Lane: Video is a great idea, people south of the bridge think of Maine as somewhere near Canada

+ Sara: Clearing house is a form so it could have a link to the video

+ There are people here that could be telling the story about how small congregations build capacity

+ PSA about a collaborative ministry works

+ Karen: Is this somethign taht we could apply for a grant to do?

+ Sara: Increased to $14.5K for the coming year

4. Collaborative services update - March 21 and May 16/24?

+ Sara: To honor Bettina, May 16 was the date

+ Amy: Belfast working around annual meeting, so May date matters

+ Bettina's last Sunday is May 16

+ Ariel coordinated the virtual service last year

+ We do the de-covenanting

+ Amy:

+ Mac: think we should continue with four quarterly collaborative services

+ If we see each other more often

+ Bettina: Nice to see people they recognize

5. Common read

+ Breathe: A Letter to My Sons by Imani Perry

+ Lane: Haven't read it yet, but understand it's very moving

+ We're used to doing Zoom now

+ Common Read Groups in the churches I"m aware of, tend to be on the small side

+ Seems very possible to make it a CMT event

+ Amy: Love the idea, attendence is better when offered on Zoom

+ If we're gonna do a Common Read

+ Offer it from the CMT, have two facilitators

+ Don't want to take it all on, but happy to be a faciliator

+ One of those things that we always offer via Zoom

+ Karen: Model we used the last few Common Reads, each org would meet in their own church

+ Last half hour or so, try to come together via Zoom

+ Only reason it didn't work was becasue the tech was not mastered

+ People were bringing good things to share

+ Common read as collaborative, use the study guide provided by the UUA

+ We'd just do one collaborative book groups

+ Margaret: Only reason to do breakout rooms, if 60 people show up

+ Can we do it over the summer?

+ Karen: Barriers to participation, small gropu who would get the book and read it cover to cover

+ But others hadn't read the whole book

+ Have excerpts available to everyone online to allow folks to join in if they hadn't read the whole book

+ Lane: Timeline is hard, but happy to take point

+ Election overshadowed things

+ Amy: Start it really soon and end by June, or wait and do it in the fall

6. 2021 retreat funds request

+ 10 Castine, 20 Ellsworth, 20 Belfast

+ Maine just shifted attendeance, may be that those numbers go up

+ Does that number include children?

7. Treasurer's report

+ Ask Jaqcui to provide treasurer's report in CMT meetings
