17:50 Where I GTD
I'm doubling down on GTD this week. I actually ordered the good version of the
book, and have been reviewing how I use org mode and tasks. Mostly, I want to
make sure that when I look at my next tasks, that I know I'm doing what I need
to do next.
The result for today has been amazing. The trick it seems is to make sure that
tasks are actionable and that you trust the list. If you don't trust the list,
avoid it, or don't find actioanble things on your list, it's a clusterfuck.
Otherwise it's been a good day. I got some quality time in at town hall, though
a lot of it was spent trying to juice up my org mode process, and I hadn't
planned that so came home a little worried that I was neglecting things.
Thankfully at work most of my current tsaks were delegation tasks. I didn't have
a lot of code I had to deliver today. I also maanged to spot a pretty serious
issue in a PR that Stavros opened, which Phill had let slip, so that was a
little rewarding. It's hard having to constantly prove yourself at work. But I
also would rather that than constantly be afraid of disappointing someone
because you couldn't live up to a standard you set.
Monday's are also kind of funny days because I don't see Jane until really late,
really just before dinner. It's like a horrifying glimpse at a future where my
kids have their own things to do!
