The hike today was amazing. We ended up doing 3 miles through the snow out in Brooklin. The Harriman Point Preserve has you head out an old road through the woods, which wasn't the most inspiring walk, but nice along the water. But when you arrive at the end of the point, there's a beach trail that you can follow all the way around the point. The first beach we came to was magical, and the rest of the walk was really neat. The hardest part was convincing the kids to not stop all the time to play on the beach on a 20° day.
Aside from the hike, we also re-watched King Arthur: Legend of the Sword which everyone else watched most of yesterday while I was working. It's a great movie, which has some obvious flaws, but tells a really compeling verison of the Arthurian legend. One of my favorite aspects is how gritty the story is, and that it doesn't hide the mystical aspects of the story.

Whew! After a whirl of picking things up and vacuuming, I've got the house clean. I also finally took the lights off the Christmas Tree! Listening to Emma and how she liked the joy of having the lights on, I took them off and put them up over the fireplace. Hopefully in the evenings it will provide a nice glow on that side of the room and we can get the tree out of the house.
Now we're getting bundled up to head out for a hike in Brooklin with Johanna Sweet.
I also am trying to figure out way to both use Org-Roam via my phone again with Orgzly and Syncthing, but I've done this before and it's been mostly useless, so we'll see. What I'd love to do is get more consistent with setting weekly tasks and goals. Even if they get dashed to pieces on the rocks of everyday life, it would be nice to have some direction to my weeks.
I'd love to spend a little time this weekend thinking about Photography with the kids, how to get photos into places where they can manipulate them and print them, without too much distraction.

This morning was a nice slow morning hanging out in the kitchen with Emma and Jessica Rollerson. The kids were watching Pokemon for Saturday Morning Cartoons and we talked about a bunch of random things; a lot of books, planning for donuts for Valentine's Day and people who settled the American Prairies. The latter came up while I was thinking about Willa Cather and some of my favorite books.
Now we're at a cross roads where I need to figure out what I'm doing next. I need to clean the house. I'd like to try to get a run or a ski in as well, but we'll see. I need to also make lemon curd for filling donuts.
Emma has a headache and the kids are having yougurt bar for breakfast.
