Today was yet another dry one. I'm beginning to wonder if it ever intends to rain again in Maine. Besides the tropical storm, I think we're nearly a month from a good soaking rain. It's times like this I'm super appreciative of our deep, solid well. There are likely plenty of others who haven't been so lucky with this weather.
This morning, Emma Sweet took off to go blackberry picking, as that was something she said she wanted to do. That turned into a fairly long excursion with her mom that ended with tea at the Big House. So after leaving around 9 she didn't get back till after 2. I think it was good for her though. She's been in a funk the past few weeks, and it was nice for her to spend some time doing things that mattered to her.
In the meantime, the kids and I did a bunch of house cleaning. While the kids bitched their way through their usual chores, I took it upon myself to clear out the hamper full of hand-me-down clothes in the bathroom hallway, and also to start ot re-arrange and clean up the craft room. I love the idea of the craft room, but it generally becomes a dumping ground for things that don't fit in the rest of the house. Guess where things should go if they don't fit in the house? That's right ... the trash :)
