the GroupType model introspects the name_plural field to fill in name_singular
if it's missing ... but not the reverse. Per the spec I was trying to convert
plurals to singular nouns, but we need to do it the other way around.

Journal
Woke up nice and early this morning. Who knows if it will come back to haunt me,
but I was just awake. I wonder if preparing yourself before sleep to be awake is
useful to the process? I certainly went to sleep with enthusiasm for the next
day.
That said, today looks picture perfect. I'm excited about the ultimate
championship tonight, and the handful of things arriving in the mail. On top of
all of that, my first direct deposit check arrived this morning, leaving us with
north of $13,000 in our checking account with the tax return and flight
reimbursment ... what a day.

Also, I lost a bit of time today setting up the X220 laptop that came today. I'm
not entierely sure why I have it. My original thought had been that I could give
it to Jane, but now I have it and I like it ;)
