Day light saving happened today, so it's hard to say I'm going to bed early. I

also slept in tremendously late today as well. The day began pretty lazy, but

I was able to get some of the living room cleaned up.

Heading down to Belfast to see Mom at the hospital was uneventful. I got to

talk some with Amanda about where she's at and thoughts for Thanksgiving.

Mom's pretty sad to be in the hospital. I think more than anything, though,

she's exhausted with Sarah being around when these sorts of things go down.

Sarah does not keep her cool and ends up a bit of a nag. It's not the worst

response, though, because Mom will do stupid things to avoid having to take

responsibility for herself or do the right thing.

The upshot of today was that Mom was feeling fine. We chatted about the

election and the state of things in the world for a while. I was able to

transfer over some books for her to read. It occurred ot me while I was

sharing them that she often shares books with me, but I am not often in a

position to share with her. It was nice being able to recommend some things.

Beyond that everything was just trucking along. The election is kind of

horrifying, as the lead Biden has in PA is tenuous and if that goes Trump's

way, a lot of other dominos fall. I'm not sure what would happen in a world

where Trump manages to win again. Maybe that's the beginning of the end of the

American democracy. We're not promised anything as regards a stable and

functional democracy. It should not be a surprise, but it would be anyway.
