00:07 No-jira

Takeaway from today, don't worry about trying to integrate Jira with org-mode tasks. Tried it again today and remembered that I'd need Jira admin privileges to enable access via cookie. It's just not worth it.

Today otherwise was fine. Emma had a bit of a breakdown over being on the kids all the time. It's difficult because that's sort of the arrangement we've tacitly agreed upon by having me work a full time job. Yet I still should help around the house and with kids as much as I can. Mostly Emma's been frustrated by having a baby all the time and also wanting to be back and involved in animals more. I know the feeling, but I also know that I'm being called out at work for having an erratic schedule. Making it more erratic probably wont earn me high marks at work right now.

I have also been struggling to find time to read lately. I need to carve out some time.

10:31 Reading

Coming back to the reading comment from last night, it occurs to me that I would also like to do a better job of thinking and remembering what I read. So often it seems I read something and then need a list or something to remember what it was I read. I finished an essay in The Fire This Time a few weeks ago about African history in New Hampshire that was really interesting and now I am afeared I wont remember it in a month's time. How to rectify that?
