My conversation with Priscilla Zorilla was nice. I love talking with P because she's always so positive and focused.

Loved the introductory boost with Jim Morrisroe and his candor and humaness exploring why he thought he was done with tech, and why he decided to jump back in with 15Five ... even if the market description made him feel sick 😆
I like the idea of reclaiming our confidence in the marketplace, but I know that it's one thing to feel confident because of what's to come, and another to be confident because of what you're delivering.
To that end, I'd love to have some conversations as a squad over the next month, especially as we onboard a new PM, about how our engineering work shows up for the people who use our software and the people who sell our software. I love to know I'm making a difference and

Had an interesting Boost today with our new COO at 15Five Jim Morrisroe where his big message was to rebuild our confidence in the market and show that 50% growth for 2021 is a pedestrian target given what's possible with our product and our position. He called 15Five a Tesla-like idea that could change a lot even though the description of the company as a human resource management platform made him want to throw up.
I am cautiously optimistic about his methods and energy, and I certainly appreciate where he's coming from in life. He talked about not wanting to get back into tech leadership after having lead a number of companies thorugh massive growth. Instead he had worked on social services in homeless shelters and helping people. I found myself wondering how much I was actually doing with that either. His move had come from burnout and not being the best of any of the many hats he was asked to wear.

Oh my god I'm so full. Emma Sweet patched together an amazing breakfast from the Super Bowl leftovers, and now I'm stuffed. Eggs, ham, toast, potatoes and Hollandaise sauce, oof!
João and also had a really nice call with Justin Bates to try to unblock billing from some issues related to the half trandition between Zuora and Recurly. More than anything, it forced to question how projects are prioritized and to write fairly long diatribe in my 15Five Report about curiously prioritized projects and whether ther's a better way. More than anything, I find myself thinking about Turn the Ship Around! and the idea of ICs and managers not asking for what to work on next, but stating what they're working on and letting their managers go-nogo their work. Pause before you start to see if it's the right thing, but if it is the right thing, then no decision from management has to be made.

Jane just woke up and found, after playing with one of her bottom right molars that it was ready to just fall out. She has been a bit of an emotional wreck over this tooth for the last week or so. This was welcome news!
In addition, the kids learned a good lesson about junk food yesterday, as Silas went to bed after the Super Bowl saying today would be nothing but vegetables and meat after binging on fritos all day . We'll see how long he remembers that today.

Managed to wake up a little after 7 this morning to a world covered in a light, powder snow. I had tried the old trick of drinking a lot of water before I went to bed, as alarm clocks always wake Emma up before me. I tried the same over the weekend and it seemed to improve the time I got up, but no days were as early as today.
After making coffee it occurred to me that being up early I could sneak out for a quick Cross Country Ski before other folks woke up. I had successfully snuck past an awak Nabby who was diligently pulling the stuffing out of Asa's bed .
