Journal

Starting out a good day. Overcast with a breeze, but I got the dishes done last

night so everything was more or less in order when I came downstairs. I was able

to sit with Nabby and listen to the birds for a little bit and then I warmed up

some oatmeal for her and we sat down to breakfast.

About the time she finished up her breakfast I parked her on her blanket with

some toys and she played while I mapped out my day. Then Asa woke up and I was

able to get him settled with breakfast while Nabby played.

Nice when there's a little rhythm to life. I also have an onsite interview setup

with PathAI in Boston next week, and I have my third interview with Thorn today,

which bodes well that they want to continue.

All this and Emma was able to get outside and do chores while I helped with the kids.

---

Tonight was the school play. Given the amount of things to do in the garden, I

was already not excited about it. Then it lasted over 90 minutes. Who does that

with a kids show? To make matters worse, at least 20 of those minutes were just

clips from Disney movies, including one whole short which probably wouldn't pass

fair use standards at all.

So I was in a foul mood during dinner because of that. But it helped that Jess

was in a good mood when we got home, and we got dinner done with with very

little drama and the kids in bed.

Kember dropped a bomb while getting out of the car that she might be moving in

with Ashley in Bucksport, which hit Jane like a ton of bricks.

I had a good call with the product lead and ops manager at Thorn today. Not sure

if they're going to make me an offer, or if there's more interviewing to be

done. But on top of that I had another good call with a recuiter from Datadog.

That position is interesting because it's not a traditional developer position,

but rather a DevEff, or developer efficiency position. Basically working with

internal developers to make their lives easier with integrations, builds and

such. A lot of what I had been doing at Ridecell.
