What do you do in a team that discourages the things that got you here? A lot of what I love about software in 2018 is open source and building around things people have already built. At FiveQ I think I was beginning to build towards an open source perspective on our work. At Ridecell and now at Elation there's such a consumption mindset with regard to open source. I wish there was some way to contribute back, or to build things in a generic manner so that you're not left cobbling shit together. Perhaps this is on me.
