Timeline

- Note taken on Oh my god. I finally got the solder on

the Sansa Clip Plus to take. The trick, after much frustration, was to "tin"

the tip of the soldering iron. You melt down a little solder and just put it

on the tip of the iron, which helps the old solder melt better. Either that,

or I only applied the solder from the tip of the iron to the connection. In

any case, the damn thing is fixed and I have a new skill under my belt. As I

was doing it I was actually thinking about how much fun it is to play with

solder and that it might be a cool skill to teach to Jane or Silas.

- Note taken on Hannah Sweet came over today to pick

up something she left last night and helped out tremendously by organizing the

kitchen a little so I can just load the dishwasher and go later today. So

great.

- Note taken on Totally slept in and forgot about the

budget meeting this morning. I go through waves of keeping my shit together.

But a post by Matt Mayfield in Slack this morning about limiting tabs got me

thinking about my overall user interface hygine and the fact that I have let

things bleed a little.

Matt's post was about a Chrome extension that limits the number of open tabs

you're allowed. But more than that, I just realized I tend to keep shit open,

or around in a "I can't forget this" method of planning where I inevitably

forget it anyway. The budget meeting was a good example. I wasn't using org to

keep track of things and I got lazy and forgot to check in on things so now I

forget things.
