Aside from getting into an argument with Emma about the value of mostly
destroying our taps to get them in the trees this, I managed to succeed pretty
well at getting the taps in.
The problem was, I couldn't find the largest drill bit that we usually use, so I
was using one that was slightly to small for some of our taps. Honestly, a
smaller hole is probably better for the tree, but it also meant that I really
had to wail on the spiles themselves to get thm in. This damaged many of the
rolled steel style spiles. Emma thought it was needlessly destructive. I didn't
see any other way to get as many taps as we could in today. That number ended up
being 10, with a few trees not running very well.
